These maps were prepared to aid in locatiing the individual wetland maps, they show the location of each map and identify the frame number of the aerial photograph from which the map was produced. Five index maps were prepared to cover the project area. The index maps were divided into 2,000m X 2000m grid cells that were equivalent to the area of each wetland map. Grid cells that were identified as containing tidal wetlands were numbered at the bottom with the six digit New York Transverse Mecator coordinates (ie.123-456). Each cell also shows the numbers of the three aerial phoyographs which occur within the area that the map covers. The central frame number contained in the grid cell is the photograph from which the photobase map was produced. The index maps were prepared by producing a mosaic of 1:24,000 scale State Department of Transportation(DOT) maps and reducing these maps to the scale of 1:48:000. Supplemental_Information: These maps (paper) were scanned at 400dpi with a FSC3050 contex scanner. The scanned rasters were then rough registered to the 1974 tidal wetland shapefile.
